Creating a Custom Export for use with WVMLS (Willamette Valley MLS) in the Paragon system

  • Once in the results of a search, click the green 'Reports' button.

  • Under the Spreadsheets folder choose any spreadsheet that you don't normally use because you're going to be modifying it.

  • Click 'Customize' and then 'fields'.

  • Verify that the class is 'RESIDENTIAL' and group is 'Listing'.

  • Name it 'TrendSheet 4'.

  • Remove all categories except for MLS # and Status (if they're already there).

  • Add the following categories from the left to the right window until the list on the right window matches the list below exactly including the order. If you don't see the field you're looking for, change the 'Group' from 'Listing' to 'Feature' or 'Feature Categories'.

    • MLS #

    • Status (may also say Status - Ascending)

    • Asking Price

    • Sold Price

    • Status Date

    • Listing Date

    • Closing Date

    • Days on Market

    • Contract Date

    • OTHER STATUS (in the 'Feature Categories' section)

    • Approx Total SqFt

    • Home Style

    • Year Built

    • SWIMMING POOL (in the 'Feature Categories' section)

    • Approx Lot SqFt

    • Acres

    • Beds

    • Baths

    • # Baths Lower Level/Bsmnt

    • Garage Capacity

    • Garage Type

  • Once the list is complete and in the above order, be sure to UNCHECK the boxes for every row in both the 'Short Lbl' and 'Short Val' columns.

  • Click 'Save' and you are done.

  • Please contact us if you have any issues with this setup and we will be happy to do it for you or walk you through it.

How to Export your Data

  • Verify that the search you are exporting includes every type of listing EXCEPT RENTALS (active, contingent, pending, closed, expired, canceled, etc excluding leased) for at least one year back from the effective date you're using. The further back you go, the more likely you are to include pertinent data. I recommend 2.5 years (since TrendSheet 4 analyzes two years of data).
  • Once in the search results, click 'Export' then 'Export to CSV'.
  • Select 'All listings'.
  • Be sure to select 'TrendSheet 4' (or whatever you named the export you made in the above section) in the drop-down then click 'Export'.
  • Save the file by whichever file name and into whichever folder you prefer (depending on browser settings you may not be given the option to choose the file name/location - if this happens that means your browser should have saved the file to your Downloads folder).

The last thing to do is copy and paste the data from the export into TrendSheet 4. If you need help with this please check out our video on the topic:
