What to do With the Download File you Received at Purchase

  • TrendSheet is delivered as a .zip file (compressed file consisting of two files) and this allows for faster downloads.
  • Once downloaded, double-click (open) the .zip file and you will see the two files inside.
  • Copy these two files to wherever you want to keep them on your computer but it is IMPORTANT that both files be located in the same directory/folder on your computer.
  • One of these files is an Excel (.xls file) and this is the file you will use when you want to open TrendSheet.

Creating a Custom Export for use in the MLSLI system - Stratus System

  • First thing you'll need to do is get into the results of a residential search.
  • Once you're in the results of a search click on the 'Customize' icon toward the top (same row as the one that shows the number of results).
  • Select 'Create New'.
  •  Click on the 'Add a Column' drop-down menu to start adding categories. The categories you choose will start to populate the window in the order they are chosen. Verify that the features are in the exact same order as this list:
    • ML#
    • Last Status Change (LSC)
    • Listing Price
    • Sold Price
    • Last Update Date
    • Listing Date
    • Title Date
    • Days on Market (DOM)
    • Contract Date
    • REO
    • Short Sale
    • Approx Int Square Footage
    • Style
    • Year Built
    • Pool
    • Lot Square Footage
    • Bedrooms
    • Baths Full
    • Baths Half
    • Garage
    • Garage Type
  • Once the list is complete and in the above order click 'Save'.
  • Type in 'TrendSheet 4' to name the export and then click 'Save' again. Now you're done with the one-time process of creating the custom export.

How to Export your Data

  • Verify that the search you are exporting includes every type of listing ( all variations of active, contingent, pending, closed, expired, canceled, etc but not including leased) for at least one year back from the effective date you're using.  The further you go back the more likely you are to include pertinent data. I recommend going 1.5 years back.
  • In the results screen of your search click 'Download' toward the top right.
  • Verify 'List Rows' is selected and all listings are included in the 'For:' field.
  • On the 'Column Set' drop-down select 'TrendSheet' (or whatever you named the custom export you created.
  • Verify that 'Include column names as first row' is checked and then click 'Download'.
  • Once it says it's ready, click on 'Download ' again.
  • Save the file as whatever name you prefer and save it to whatever folder you prefer (depending on your internet browser settings you may not be given the option to choose the file name/location - if not given an option it is most likely saved in the Downloads folder)

The last thing to do is copy and paste the data from the export into TrendSheet 4. If you need help with this please check out our video on the topic:
