Creating a Custom Export for use in HARMLS - TempoMLS

  • First thing you'll need to do is get into the results of a residential search and scroll to the bottom.
  • Click on 'Custom Reports'.
  • At the bottom of this page, name the report 'TrendSheet 4'.
  • On the right window click 'ML Number' and then click the 'Up' button.
  • Now, click on each of the following categories individually and in order and as you click on them they will appear in the window at the right. There is no need to click on 'ML Number' or 'Status' since they are already in the window at the right. Once you are done, the categories should all be on the right side of the window and they must be in the same order as below:
    • ML Number
    • Status
    • List Price
    • Sales Price
    • Expiration Date
    • Listing Date
    • Closing Date
    • Days On Market
    • Pending Date
    • Off Market Date
    • Termination Date
    • Withdrawn Date
    • Disclosures
    • Building Square Feet
    • Number of Unit Stories (FOR MID/HIGH-RISE  USE 'City')
    • Year Built
    • Private Pool Description
    • Seller Contribution to Buyer Costs
    • Lot Size (FOR MID/HIGH-RISE USE 'Census Tract')
    • Bedrooms - Number
    • Bathrooms - Full
    • Bathrooms - Half
    • Garage - Number of Spaces (FOR MID/HIGH-RISE USE 'Parking Spaces')
    • # of Carport Spaces (FOR MID/HIGH-RISE USE 'Other Building Fees')
  • Once the list is complete and in the above order click 'Save Report' and you are done. *Parking features do not work accurately on Mid/High Rise properties although the paired sales and sensitivity analysis will still work since those are based upon the sales grid.

How to Export your Data

  • Verify that the search you are exporting includes every type of listing (active, contingent, pending, closed, expired, canceled, etc excluding leased) for at least one year back from the effective date you're using. It is better to go further back than one year to verify that all relevant listings are included so I recommend going 2.5 years back (since TrendSheet 4 analyzes two years of data).
  • In the search results screen scroll down to the bottom of the list of results and click 'Check All Listings'.
  • Now click the 'Download' button.
  • Verify that the 'Number of Records to Download' shows that it's downloading all records.
  • In the window just below find and click on the custom export you created named TrendSheet 4 (or whatever you chose to call it).
  • Click 'Create Download'.
  • Save the file by whichever file name and to whichever folder you prefer (depending on your browser settings you may not be given the option to choose the file name/location).

The last thing to do is copy and paste the data from the export into TrendSheet 4. If you need help with this please check out our video on the topic:
