TrendSheet 4 - NJ / Garden State MLS

Creating a Custom Export for use in Garden State MLS (GSMLS)

  • Hover over the 'Search' button, move the mouse down to 'Custom One Liner', then left-click on 'New One Liner'.
  • Toward the top of the screen where it says 'New Report Name:' type in 'TrendSheet' as the name for this report.
  • Left-click on each of the following categories (in the left column) and add them individually so that they appear in the right window. Add them using the Green arrow button between the columns. Once you are done, the categories should appear on the right side of the window and they MUST be in the same order as below:
    • Status
    • List Price
    • Sale Price
    • Expiration Date
    • List Date
    • Closing Date
    • Days On Market
    • Under Contract Date
    • Withdrawn Date
    • Listing Type
    • Lender Approval Required
    • Approx Sq Ft
    • Style
    • Construction Date/Year Built
    • Pool
    • Pool Description
    • Total Acres
    • Approximate Lot Size
    • # Bedrooms
    • # Full Baths
    • # Half Baths
    • # Garage Spaces
    • Garage Description
  • Verify that the list is complete and in the above order then left-click the green 'Save' button toward the top left.

How to Export your Data

  • Verify that the search you are exporting includes every type of listing (active, contingent, pending, closed, expired, canceled, etc) for at least one year back from the effective date you're using. The further back you go, the more likely you are to include pertinent data. I recommend 2.5 years since TrendSheet 4 analyzes two years at once.
  • When you are in the results screen for your search left-click the checkbox that is immediately above the first listing checkbox. Doing this should select all listings on the screen.
  • Left-click 'Download' (next to 'View/Print').
  • Select 'TrendSheet' in the right-side area (do not choose Full Download).
  • On the left you can choose to name the file whatever you prefer to name it (so long as it still ends in '.tsv' then click the green 'Download' button toward the top left.
  • At this point your browser may auto-save the file and if it does that means the file was most likely saved to the Download folder on your computer. If instead, it prompts you to save the file, just choose the folder you'd like the file saved in and then left-click 'Save'.

The last thing to do is copy and paste the data from the export into TrendSheet 4. If you need help with this please check out our video on the topic:
